Mquinista · 2022-09-06 06:45

Hy gents A the title sugests, i got to inspect my tractor transmission oil pump, but since i´m new to this type of trans, i would like to have some info on the matter before starting to pull it all apart. Its a power shift trans. Tractor is 1995 built in EU. Thanks in advance

I see two different Part Numbers of pump (if the pump is original) depending on whether the machine Serial Number is above or below 1DD04341. It appears that the specifications for both pumps are the same. See attached.

hy Nige , If i get this right , this is a 3 stage gear type pump, stage A powers control gear change , stage B goes to lubicate steering clutches and brakes along with control to this functions. stage C scavenges from converter.(what about press to converter) Did i got it wrong , or does the converter receive only bleeding and no positive oil press? where can i port it to check pump operation pressures with thing assembled? thanks

Your original question/comment was - "A the title sugests, i got to inspect my tractor transmission oil pump" Attached to the answer was the disassembly/assembly procedure and the specifications for the pump. If you had said "I'd like to understand how the power train hydraulic system works and how to test it" the answer would have been somewhat different. But all is not lost. Go to the thread below and download the attachments from Post #2 & Post #4. They are the T&A and System Operation documents for a D5H of 8JR-prefix but are also applicable to your tractor. He he , I explained myself wrong. I really need to inspect the pump, cause i have bad pressure readings. But i´m taping ports on the rear. What i would like to tap would be ports at pump outflow, so i could discard some extra trouble inspecting it. Regarding the hydraulic circuit , a squematic would help a lot to locate my intermitent problem. I´de be very happy if u could find me one. Thanks

See the thread that I linked above. Everything you need is in those two attachments. The System Operation document contains a schematic of the power train hydraulic system.

Thanks , got it better now, still loking for test ports but i guess i have search more carefully. Just a small question, should i discard an oil cooler fault? like cloging in either side? would that be a common thing to happen? Thanks

This attachment might make it clearer. Pressure tap locations are on Page 2.

Hy, Nige been doing some homework on this matter above, and let me thank for the documentation, and the explanations it contains. Now i can say i understand this trans ans its components. But have 1 more question: How do we check TC case leak(convertor sump), since the pump has a scavenge section just for this, is there any specs for this oil that we need to look at? This systems tend to differ a lot from others, and i´m mostly used with automotive and dry clutches ...

On that particular model I don't know. There is no specification. Hopefully someone else can make a suggestion on how to test. What you have to bear in mind is that what comes out of the bottom of the converter housing to the scavenge pump is only the oil escaping the torque converter as internal leakage, not the whole flow to the converter.

Ok, understand, after all that leak shall be lube and cool oil from pump drive gearing, and some other bearing in the ouside of main TC bowl. If we look close @ page in TXM press chart, in Direction Clutch pressure reading , it is written "Less than speed clutch @ tap B", but tap B is related to TC inlet press. Shouldn´t it be Less than Speed Clutch press @ tap D? BTW do u have a part numbers list for the parts listed in this charts... or any other way of finding the part numbers?

Hi, im dealing with a similar problem and wondering if you ever received an answer about the speed clutch @TAP b. Im confused with this as well wondering if it should be at tap d as well. Unless a guy does the test at tap b with it in gear possibly?

  12. #12Nige2024-07-25 13:26

All speed clutch testing should be done at tap D. It is a misprint in the manual.

Have you checked the magnetic strainer

  14. #14BRENIC2024-07-25 14:29

Yea u bet, I put a new torque converter in it and a new scavenger pump. Both were hour 'd out and im just checking pressures now that all this has been replaced. Everything works good now, but it seems as though there is a typo in the manual and it should say port d instead of port b for pressure testing. Just wanted to see if original poster had ever found out if it was or not.

Yep, there´s some mickey mouse in the manual...There´s a printing defect in the document. After a lot of assle i had to repair all in the TXM except the TC and now i do understand what is what, Anyhow after one dismantle all that he realizes that checking pressures lead nowhere, unless u have faults in priority valve or in the TXM valves that require calibration, normally but theren´t much to do there as system is very sturdy.
