warning alarm for trans starts beeping after running for 20 min. every thing seems ok any body see this before?
could be a bad sending unit for transmission or torque conv. temp sending unit the cat manual has troubleshooting guide for the e.m.s. system
I'm certainly no mechanic but you may want to look at the trans filter. For 17 bucks or so cut the old one off and squeeze it in a vice. Maybe there is some restriction and causing it to bypass. :beatsme I've had that happen before on an older D8n and found a bunch of gear shavings in the filter. Good luck and let us know..
If the alarm is comming and the lower right warning light the it is most likely that the transmission filter just needs changed ,If it hasnt been changed in a while It would be normal to have to change it. Its Under the floorplate if you dont know also be sure to put grease on lid seal to hold it in place if that o-ring falls out it usually falls into filter housing and if this happens it ends up Jambing up the steering valve . If temp sensor was causing this it would be top right warning light and no alarm would sound
I agree with the above post about the tranny filter. On our D5H we had the same problem and it was filling up with paint that was flaking from inside the tranny housing. Also be sure to clean the tranny screen.
Cat had a problem with D6/7 trans filter indicators some time ago. Mostly in cold weather. Problem is that warm oil coming up from trans would not push through the filter which was full of very cold oil. So warning lamp went off. I'd thought they had taken care of this in all later models of all sizes. You may also have a dirty filter causing the problem, or a defective sender.
