So after much research ( my local cat dealer either couldn't or wouldn't help me identify the maker of the pumps) I believe I have identified the travel pumps on our 98 D5C Hystat as Rexroth A4VG90 pumps- I may be faced with pulling them both and my goal is to reseal them. Is this a job best left to a hydraulic shop, or does anyone have any experience doing these? I have the component manuals and am hoping to just disassemble/lap mating surfaces /clean and reseal them with new orings/gaskets etc. The pumps are both working but have leaks and suspected air infiltration from apparently old failing orings/gaskets. Thanks for any advice.
