Newer cat filter primer pumps are throwaway am i correct?

    Pretty much--don't buy the short stroke model.

    That short stroke one is worse than beating off.

    Don’t short stroke it. And purchase an extra one because the present quality of the genuine CAT primer pump is horrible.

    Tbh i have to use both hands..... One to hold the magnifing lens
