Does the counterweight have to be removed to replace the muffler on a Cat V50D forklift?
I have the VC60D which is the same family as the V40D and V50D according to the parts manual. And the V40D, V50D, and VC60D share the same muffler group so what I see on the my VC60D may help. If I pop off the back top panel (between the seat and counterweight) on my VC60D, I can easily get to the muffler. I zipped off the panel in 30secs with my small cordless impact and took a pic for you. If you have a panel like this on the V50D, it appears access to the muffler is not too bad. Worst case, by pass the internal muffler and flex-pipe it to one outside where the up-pipe is located.
