I have a 267B Caterpillar and after running for sometime it hesitates to move in forward or reverse gear. Should I drain the hydraulic fluid and replace? SN #CYC-01047
Of course, you can change the oil, but it seems to me that there is a more serious malfunction here than oil degradation. Have you noticed at what temperature of hydraulic oil the malfunction begins to appear?
I have not. Do not have a temp gauge on my machine.
When the machine stops moving forward or backward, does it happen in both directions at the same time? And does the implement work?
Yes all implements work but machine hesitates. I can get it moving again but it takes some patients. Seems like it has to catch up.
If everything is OK with the armrest and seat switches, then it is worth checking the hydrostatic pilot solenoid and the parking brake solenoid.
Do you have a hydrostatic pilot solenoid or parking brake solenoid diagram?
The solenoid valve for the parking brake is located beneath the cab behind the left hand joystick. The solenoid valve for the parking brake is located within the valve body. The solenoid valve for the parking brake is mounted to the machine frame. The interlock ECM controls the solenoid valve for the parking brake. The solenoid valve will engage the parking brake or the solenoid valve will disengage the parking brake. When the solenoid valve is off, the parking brake will be engaged. There are no diagnostics that are associated with the solenoid valve.
The solenoid valve for the hydrostatic pilot is located within the valve body. The solenoid valve for the hydrostatic pilot is located in the lever for the speed/direction control. The interlock ECM controls the solenoid valve for the hydrostatic pilot. The solenoid valve allows the flow of hydraulic oil to the speed/direction control. The interlock ECM monitors the circuit for any faults. If a fault is detected, the ECM will flash the parking brake indicator or the armrest indicator.
I replaced the pilot valve if its in that unit it should be good.
To speed up diagnostics, it is worth connecting CAT ET.
I need to replace my parking brake switch it stick s to one side but I push it to correct the issue. It will rock before going again. Once I get it going again it will go no problem but loading it on a trailer, reverse or turning can be hard.
Maybe we should start with this.
Do you think it could be the issue and not show on the dash its activating?
If the problem is in the electrical switches of the parking brake or armrest with the seat, then the icons on the panel should light up. But if the problem is in the mechanical part, for example, the solenoid valve for the parking brake, then you just won’t see it.
It would be nice to connect CAT ET and see the status of all switches and solenoids when the fault occurs. And maybe there will be active errors.
The parking brake solenoid has no diagnostics to check for faults in the system. You need to check, maybe the solenoid is losing power, the diagnostics will not see it. When you stop the machine do any icons on the panel light up? If they do not light up, then check the solenoid according to the instructions.
