Caterpillar and the Health Bill

We wonder why the construction industry is headed out of the North American market? http://www.chicagobreakingbusiness.com/2010/03/caterpillar-health-care-bill-would-cost-it-100m.html When I started in this business, there were 12 competitors, all from the NA area. Now look, Not even Cat builds the majority of the products here, assembles yes, but even the compact products structurally come from Mexico. Same with Deere and Dozers and Hitachi Excavators and the rest of the names are foreign owned or gone.

but Microsoft is for it so I do not know enough about it to have a solid opinion. With or without health-care cost we in the USA cannot pay the taxes we do here in the US and work for Mexican wages or wages paid in other parts of the world. 100 million is what percentage of cats total cost?

Granted the article linked is about CAT, a manufaturer in our industry, but as we all know, the whole health care question is one HUGE political football. And we also all know that here at HEF we don't do political discussions, because they all too easily, and quickly, get out of control. Any hint that it's going downhill, and this thread will be locked...
