Sorry don't know what you mean ?

  4. #4fast_st2019-01-19 16:06

No worries, a RB bros rebuild is where someone washes and paints a piece of equipment before slapping new decals on it and wheeling it off to auction.

It looks like they cut out the side panel which hinges to service the air cleaner and maybe it's the camera angle but the cylinders for the ripper look bent. You don't pull back both steering levers to go straight. What's the green stuff on the side? There are better D8K's out there.

bassetts, you must be pulling our Worms with this load of spoof??? you call it a D2? then seem to have as much Idea about the Cat as Ms D. Abbott, stop this Bull Crap ASAP as you will get shot out of the Sky on this Site. tctractors p.s. The D8K looks a rough u'n, the Ripper Cylinders are bent and Knackered, as for setting fire to crap in the radiator to clean them, well lets say its worth doing to this mount as it will soon be clinker.

I couldn't watch more than a minute or so. You start out with a scene of a business decal on a truck. The audio just sucks as you have wind blowing past the mike on the camera. You don't know what model of D8 you have. It's a lot of work to produce a good video story. Better go find a school somewhere to learn some video production. Then find something you actually know something about.

Easy boys, we all had to start somewhere. She does look a bit rough around the edges.

  16. #16bassetts2019-01-21 01:16

  17. #17fast_st2019-01-21 07:54

    Yep, the rebel alliance HQ!

seriously what did you expect coming on to a forum inhabited by heavy equipment maintenance professionals and giving every impression that you haven’t done your homework properly first..? As others have pointed out the D8 is a POS.... 20-gallon overhaul, Du Pont overhaul, Ritchie Bros overhaul. They’re all the same thing and refer to the coat(s) of paint hiding the disaster underneath.

using a fisheye lens distorts all the lines of the dozer ...ie all cylinders look bent...

  21. #21bassetts2019-01-21 11:04

    Thanks Mate!

Good eye PEVO ! I viewed it again and noticed the crane booms in the background also have a bent look about them .

  23. #23Buckethead2019-01-21 18:10

Any video of an old flat track 8 warms my heart. I just shudder to think of what would happen if someone tries to clean a radiator by setting it on fire.

  24. #24td25c2019-01-21 18:48

I love it ! Cool old iron Sure liked the Honda "pony" start Enfield . Old Ford tractors just plain Kick Ass ! Tough rigs that pound for pound keep up with anything . Your Mate does nice work . I need to send him our 1972 Ford 4000 .

  25. #25td25c2019-01-22 20:49

I'm thinking the " Engine Guard's " were fabricated like that . Don't have to unbolt & fold down to service the air filter . They aint factory Cat D8K . Someone built them like that .

  26. #26Bluox2019-01-22 21:18

I bet they are Cat classic. bob

  27. #27td25c2019-01-22 21:47

Tracks & chain still look pretty good at 0:43 in the video . Don't look to bad overall for it's age .
