Hi JCBmanUK and welcome to the forum. Personaly I haven't the faintest clue of what your asking about, but I would think you being in the UK and the JCB's are made there you might go to service center and talk to some of the Blockes there, just a thought.

cant get any sense out of dealership!! someone on here must know?

Before the great invention of control patern changers we use to swap the pilot lines around until you got the correct function on each handle. First, make a schematic of how the lines are now. This will help in case you mess it up and have to start from scratch all over again. Second find the "BOOM" function pilot lines. Then find the "dipper or Crowd" lines. These are the two circuits you will be changing. Swap boom for the dipper and dipper for the boom. If this done correctly you will have your ISO or SAE pattern.

hi if you go to the bottom of joystick you will have six hoses one marked p for pump one t for tank and four letters move the four letters around one cant remember if it clockwise or anti clockwise but think about it before you do it and you will know what i mean GOOD LUCK should of bought a hitachi

i tried as you said the other day. all worked fine except we couldnt get the boom to come down!? it would lift but just wouldnt come down? the engine would strain but no movement. i think the check valves were the problem? all other functions were fine though we changed the control pattern from iso to sae on a terex hr14 and it worked perfect no problems. but this is something else!!

just ignore my last statement thinking of some thing else are you changing the hoses at the valve block

  8. #8jcbmanuk2010-10-05 16:44

no not at the valve block, behind the cab there is a meeting point for all the pipes, here is where we swapped them over. you are a hitachi man then, my uncle is a hitachi man!

no work with a fleet of 30 hitachi 6 case and 2 jcb the hoses at the back of the cab is the best place must just be a hose the wrong way around ,under the joy stick in the cab the hoses will be numbered or colour coded, go there so you can match control to pipe number and then you will know what each one is for write it down because it can play with your head

I did the opposite conversion in a MKII Kobelco. On the Kobelco there is a line of fittings where t one side goes to the joysticks and the other to the valves. Like hitachi daft said, you need to get the hose sequence correct. I am thinking though, if you had all circuits working except the boom not coming down, it would indicate we are missing something, since if you get two hoses round the wrong way, ( you can't have three hose correct and one wrong), you would have two problems not one. :beatsme

Hi ,I don't know if your machine is the same , I have a 2004 jcb 8080 . it has a switch behind the seat that changes between the patterns . Ian .

My understanding is if it a European machine then they cannot be changed as there is a ruling from the EU.Now If you change the hoses you will also need to change the check valve pilot lines................. Now changing the controls and using it with in the EU may constitute a breach of H&S legislation. BS en474-5

meh! eu laws! only my father and i drive it. so its not too much of a problem. saying that if i put stickers on the glass showing the sae pattern instead of the iso that must be ok!? backhoes are all sorts of patterns over here! 3 different types infact! cheers matt

switch have you looked in the fuse box ,failing that buy a operators manual :drinkup i think you will find stock may be correct ,if its only limited use it wont take long to get the hang of it as it is

We Had a IHI 75F that we changed patterns on . If yours is the same set up ,the boom has an extra pilot control pipes for quicker lift and drop . We had not worked out the extra hoses ,later put it back the original way and noticed how much quicker it lifted and lowered .. If yours is the same set up the burst valve may be getting oil from else where tricking it into thinking that a hose has gone . As the others suggested ,Spend a bit of time getting used to the controls as they are .Most of it is mind over matter talking yourself into the different pattern will work . Ian .

I'm not sure how much room you have under the console, but the Kiwi cheating method is to undo the 4 pilot (lever) control hold-down bolts, loosen the hoses, then lift and turn the whole control 90 degrees. Adjust the lever angle to suit. Some machines don't give you enough room, or the hoses will not reach.

Hi Harry dart ,Welcome to the forum . Mate that method will work to change from hitachi pattern , But what is required is to change the slew from one lever to the other and the dipper boom as well .Ian .

Well folks it appears to me that if the time to change it was put in to learning on it; it would be simpler, as it is and in the future one won't have any issues with getting rid of the equipment and buying a new one which they then would be able to drive. But altering it in this litigious age is not the wisest thing to do.....................

i can sympathise with anybody not wanting to learn a new driving system, i spent 30 years driving ine way ,then wanted to hire a machine and had to learn to drive it and still make the odd mistake after 7 years driving european way

Ianoz, I have changed the JS130's to what you want, but it was 2 years ago and I'll need to look back through my paperwork to find it again. I do recall it wasn't a simple 4-hose swap around.

  21. #21ianoz2010-10-09 22:02

Hi Harry Dart , Mate it is not me wanting to change the pattern ,Its JCBmanuk . I was trying, like you to offer help .. Ian .

Ooops, sorry, looking at the wrong page. But I have done these, just need to find where I wrote it down.
