Will be changing the front hydraulic pump on a 580k. Will i need any new gaskets for the side flanges? anything to watch for? tips/trik. or is it simple as it looks and just a pain.....
You can replace the pump by simply removing the front counterweight, if it has one. Leave the radiator/hood in place. It may well be worth replacing the pump coupling, engine fanbelt & front engine mounts while doing this. Some 580K hydraulic pumps have flange fittings with orings & others use threaded fittings for the high pressure hoses - be sure which one you have to order the correct pump.
Don't forget to clean the suction screen.
