I don't know how many guys here are into cold start videos of equipment but a few people have asked for them. One good thing about living in Alberta is you have lots of time for cold starts. So here goes. Cat 973C cold start. -5 degrees celcius. YouTube - Caterpillar 973C Cold Start Cat D7R cold start, -25 degrees celcius and sitting for the weekend. YouTube - D7R Cold Start Cat D10N cold start, -1 degrees celcius and sitting for the night. YouTube - Caterpillar Cold Start Cat D10R cold start, +11 degrees celcius at Ritchie Bros. This machine was from Syncrude and has 88 000hrs on her. YouTube - Cat D10R Cold Start Cat 594H Pipelayer -5 degrees and had been sitting most of the winter. This was Alco and myself going out to North Americans yard to take some pictures of this machine. YouTube - Cat 594H Pipelayer cold start And well this one isn't really a cold start.... more of a cold death, -20 degrees last winter. YouTube - 644J Turbo By the way Digger.... thats post number 1007, so expect 8723 more frivelous posts before you guys need to figure out how to lock it at 9730
Lord, my fingers, toes and nose got cold just watching these clips! Time to head to Mexico!
alex, you need help. many, many hours of head shrinking.
I can't believe the way that D7 started.
winter is a coming... almost time to plug in the equipment overnight...
That was a good day, I have another one thats quite a bit worse. Oh and me double fisting ether into a 627E... that ones classic.
Awesome vids, its amazing at how some of these machines start right up in the winter and others just want to hibernate. You put our 6 right next to our 15 and the 15 is out moving dirt before you get that six going. Now the old 671 DD in the scraper, had to give it three shots of ether even on a hot summer day. As always, thanks for sharing. Trbo
