Hey guys, I'm looking at picking up a Bobcat T650 that has an engine oil leak. They think it might be from the oil pan, but aren't sure. Are there any other common areas those like to leak? If it is the oil pan, does the motor have to be pulled to get the pan off? The machine has a right under 2500 hours on it. Thanks in advance! Courage
I have a T650 with the same problem, not sure where its coming from, but the drain plug is connected to a hose for easy oil change, and I think it might be coming from that. Yes if you want to take the oil pan off you need to pull the engine.
On a Bobcat T650, oil leaks are often from the valve cover gasket, oil pressure sensor, oil filter housing, front crank seal, or turbo oil lines — oil can run down and look like a pan leak.
More often than not in my experience, it’s the drain hose for engine oil. People move the hose around a lot to drain oil, and eventually they seem to loosen. Easy fix if that’s it. If oil pan, that’s a chore and a half.
