Kelly ripper tooth/boot Hi, Fiat41B. You can probably pick up a new tooth, or boot as they are more commonly called DownUnder, from any good supplier of ground engaging tools - cutting edges, bucket teeth, etc. Most rippers use standard-sized teeth or boots and most after-market manufacturers make a range to cover pretty much the lot. Somebody somewhere would have even made boots for the big Collins rippers that were sometimes fitted to Cat DD9G's and DD9H's. We have several specialist suppliers DownUnder who can supply almost anything for almost anything. Some of them even carry grouser re-building bar which we use to weld on to the cutting edges of our 4-in-1 buckets 'cos it's a fair bit cheaper than buying whole new cutting edges.

Any pics? Hi, Stock. Sorry, I don't have any photos of it but it's pretty straightforward. All we do is weld the grouser bar on to the existing cutting edge at the same angle as the original cutting edge. You can even allow for uneven wear patterns by setting the grouser bar straight and filling any gaps with weld. (There's no such thing as a BIG welding gap. They are only openings for GOOD welders.) We use mostly 1" (25mm) and 1 /14" (30mm) which pretty well suits the Cat 943's and 953's that we are running. We also did the same trick with the cutting edge of a wide gauge Cat D5B dozer that we used to have and had no problems with it tearing off. It seems to last about the same as the original cutting edge. We also weld on grouser re-building bar to rebuild cutting edge on the back of the 4-in-1 bucket floor. We do a LOT back-dragging with the open 4-in-1 to get material out of blind corners. There is no bolt-on edge for that cutting edge. The grouser bar works like a dream. You would need to use proportionately heavier bar with bigger machines. Hope this helps.

Kelly Ripper Teeth ? Kelly ripper teeth , should still be available from Caterpillar, Hensley, Esco ! You can always change shanks . Or cut the tip or boot off, and weld a replacement tip or boot , that accepts readily available teeth.
