I wanted to post this, seems this engine is not only popular in Case backhoes but truck swaps too. Apparently factory adapters allow swapping to Ford, GM, or Chrysler transmissions. Part #'s are listed here too. Phil http://www.4btswaps.com/forum/
Yes they are very popular. I am actually looking for a nice 4BTA to put in my Jeep Wrangler. A friend of mine has done it. With 35" tires 3.73 gears and 6" of lift he gets 550miles to a 13 gallon tank of diesel.
