well my mine just got 4 komatsu 375 about a year ago on top of the 6 d10 we have had for years. the d10 push straght really straight i pop that bad boy in 2 gear and away i go but the komatsu 375 pushes alot more but i haft to go really slow to get the dozer to push straight 1 gear half throttle i just want to know if other people feel that same about it. by the way the komatsu is alot more comfortable
I take it your pushing within site of the shop then with that Komatsu? In my experience and some others Komatsu's run like a champ when their close to the shop, but the second they are out of sight they get nervous and break down. I know from our experience our 375 won't outpush our 10N's or 10R's.
lol your komatsu has a satlink on it i dont even have to call the dozer calls and tells them whats wrong like onstar for dozers lol
the komatsu does out push the d-10n we dont got the 10r but we do have 8 d-10n's i jump back and forth every day. i love cat better built
Where actually is the 10R built?
I've had good luck on the 375 dozers when they first came out and got throught the initial engineering short comings of first generation machines. Where ours really shined was in ripping rock and sandstone. They would run rings around a D9L in those days ripping and pushing down hill. I did think that the 9L would out push the 375 in straight slot dozing of well shot material. Initial price and the cost of undercarriage in those days was the deciding factor in going with the rice burners. A full D9L rebuilt undercarriage ran about $70,000 back in the late eighties and lasted about 3,600 hours depending on what time of year you installed it. The 375 bottom would cost about $36,000 in that time frame and make about 3,200 depending on the time of year installed. Resale on the big rice machine has never been any good and they are so expensive to rebuild that when one considers life cycle costs, the Cat probably is the better choice. On the other hand the fastest way to get a better purchase price on a Cat is to put a rice burner on site.
we got 4700hours on that dozer and the second set of tracks. one really nice thing is the rip-assist s1-6h you dont have to brake your neck looking back, even with the seat that goes on the left side
We have one 375 and three 10's. The Komatsu seems to be a mechanical nightmare. Everything leaks. I replaced the trans input seal twice in 1k hours. Constantly losing hoses. Hard to start even after K did a bunch of warranty and replaced the ECM. Don't like it. I think we may just have a lemon though, as we seem to have real good luck with our 600 and 700 loaders,,,,,,
