After jumping thorough several hoops, the clutch lever is finally off. Was ready to push in new bearings until the condition of the shaft was discovered... holy cow Batman! A new shaft is in order but doesn't look like a project I need to undertake as it is pressed into the transmission case and access is miserable. A previous repair was a full length brass bushing that rode on the high spots between the bearings and the ends outside of where the bearings rode. That ship has sailed so I am thinking or making a steel sleeve to lightly press over the shaft with an O.D. that would allow the lever (after a light honing) to slip onto. Anyone with a fix they found to work or an idea differing from mine is welcome.
