2004 D5G ECM Warning Light is on. Tested alternator good, replaced batteries, cleaned all connectors under foot step and applied new dielectric grease, also have traced grounds and no problems found. Also checked all wires we could see, nothing found to be a problem. Tractor runs fine with no issues, but the light will not go off. What do we do to turn the light off?

ECM Light So my husband informed me that it wasn't the ecm light...it's the electrical system light that is on. The serial # is MHK05246

How many volts are you getting out of the alternator and how many at the battery at wot?
Alternator 14.5 Battery 14.4 He said serial number is RKG01135 this is the number he gives to cat
It should 12 V as it is 12V system
The machine has 2 12 volt batteries linked together positive to positive. We have already had a mechanic test the charging system as well as output on the alternator while at idle and at half throttle as well as full throttle. Everything tested good.
How much gives the alternator ? Lights comes on when voltage is to low or to high
hi for the light to come on means that either you have a faulty panel, wire C414 grounded or the alternator warning light circuit is faulty to check alternator disconnect wire #C414 from terminal #1 .if light goes out alternator is faulty even thought it may have good output .if light stays on it is possible to have a faulty panel but more likely the wire #C414 is shorted to ground this is assuming it is the original alternator and not some will fit part Mark if you need a full schematic please let us know
We unplugged the 3 prong connector from the back of the alternator. Cranked dozer and the light went off...does this mean the alternator is faulty?
