D6R Transmission Test

Hello All. Please i'm having problem testing the D6r bulldozer transmission i just repaired using High pressure Air. the gears are not engaging when i put the pressure hose on the valve holes. When i did this with my D8r bulldozer in 2013, it gave me good result. I want to know if this is okay with the d6r transmission as this one is electrical and that of the d8r is manual or is there something wrong in what i have repaired? The number one gear springs just a little and returns back. Or is it the air pressure isn't sufficient? Thanks

You just rebuilt it ? You need to hit them with a blast of air. An air gun will do with over 100 psi but pull the trigger fast and don't slowly apply the air and have a good seal between the gun tip and trans. Usually if you used assembly oil or grease on the piston seals they seal. If not lay it down and put some clean oil down the holes followed by air. Only the rotating clutch sometimes will not seal for air and in that case turn the input shaft a but and it usually seals up.

Thanks, big ben. YES i just rebuilt it. okay. i will do that. but i can go ahead and install right? and use a tetragauge to check the pressure after installing and starting?

You can install it but if you can not get the clutches to activate with air it be worried.....and yes use pressure gauges to set the pressures for each clutch and then complete the fill calibration as well. Do all pressures - pump, tc in, tc out, lube and each clutch.
