I am looking at buying a 70s Cat DC-3 and the rear drive is leaking. I'm to old to tackle myself so would any of you have any idea what it would cost to repair. Machine itself hasn't been operated in 4 years and the batteries are out of it so I have not heard it run and figure with it below zero here for the next few weeks, figure I couldn't get it started either.
There's plenty of experience on here for machines of that vintage but what would really help are some photos of the tractor and particularly of the leak.
Like Nige said,need more info is it leaking from center gear housing,reduction housing,into the brake housing,or sprocket seal
