yeah i work with a few. my boss loves them. actually only one is a deutz-allis the other two are deutz before the merge. we've got one mfd trator about 55hp w a loader, a 40-06 twd and a 100-06 that is twd. i'll get dome pics later. what do you have? those air cooled engines are sweet on fuel!

  2. #2celticcrusader2008-04-22 18:58

we have a Dx90, 7085 & two 6250's all4x4's some with loaders they are great on fuel! 2 have cabs with heat & a/c always looking for more, something above 100hp

How to D/A work out price wise against other manufacturers?

  4. #4bigblueox2008-04-23 09:48

To import now it's astronomical. in my area parts are nill, but then again we haven't needed many, and to consider that two of the machines are twice my age and then some(i'm 21) I think our 4wd is a 6250. i'm not sure tho, i'll grab some pics this afternoon. We looked at a DX(85 maybe?) tractor that was posted on ebay near our area. to bad we didn't get it, it looked like a a decent tractor. right now i'm waiting on a JD 7130 that was supposed to be here a month ago!

here are some pics of the deutz i run.

  6. #6bigblueox2008-05-01 18:34

    some more some more deutz.

  7. #7celticcrusader2008-05-01 19:42

that 6250 we have the same one. I think they are much better than JD's , great on fuel easy on repairs.

  8. #8bigblueox2008-05-04 11:17

yeah i hear ya. parts are hard to come by though. not dealer support down here! have to reley on the old internet. good thing they don't break down often!

  9. #9celticcrusader2008-05-04 11:37

you should be able to get parts from allis charmer dealer

  10. #10stumpjumper832008-06-26 22:24

There is some support for them in lancaster co. pa. The Amish and mennonite have alot of them usually 40-06 and up. An Agco dealer should be able to help you out parts wise, if not them talk to one of the smaller repair shops that deal with them everyday.

deutz 100-06 hi all have a little problem here have a 1977 deutz 100-06 it was running perfat then all of a sudden it stoped change the feil filet but it put it back together but it wood not let the fuel come out of the pump when u turn it over with the lines open i was wondering it there is a lift pump some where the pump is a rotor typ hpe some one can help thanks sam

  12. #12celticcrusader2008-10-19 09:34

is it an air cooled motor? try taking fuel line off before fuel filter and take off fuel CAP and blow into fuel tank to make sure it is not plugged also on our tractors with inline injector pumps the lift pump is on the side of inj. pump there is a round cover held on with small bolt [ use 8mm wrench] on top of lift pump underneath cover is a mesh screen that has to be cleaned sometimes hope this helps.

  13. #13sammt2008-10-19 18:03

hi yes the motor is a air cooled and the fuel go from the tank to the filter then to the fueil pump have fuel after the filer but this motor hase no viasabl lift pump like my old inlne fuel pump it a bit different with a rotor pump but i will look for the screan u r talk about thank u for your time sam

  14. #14celticcrusader2008-10-19 18:57

if it is a rotary inj. pump then the lift pump is part of the pump , inside the injection pump.

i was on a hayride tonight and the tractor pulling the flatbed wagon was a newer agco, i beleive what was once the duetz/duetz-allis line. very quiet diesel, you could hear the transmission more than the motor. dont recall the model designation, it had a cab and i was expecting to find a straight six in it, but after looking at the injection pump it was obvisly a 4 cyl. had front-wheel assist also. would have been neat to hook up to some equipment and tried it out in a feild.

Most are good tractors, they have low resale value though,, parts are available through agco, but can be pricey. a comparable 10 year older allis chalmers will bring the same money as a newer deutz allis. AC peoplewant the tried and true orange, but for the money the green ones are a good value.

Check the banjo bolt that connects the fuel hose to the bottom of the fuel tank. These bolts can block with rust etc and not allow enough fuel through. Regards, Malmac

Stumpjumper83, I thought the amish and memmonite people were totally against tractors? Neil

  23. #23bill onthehill2009-03-14 09:19

They are not against them but most do run steel wheels on them. My neighbors have several older farmalls with steel wheels. they use it to tow the baler to the field but use horses and a loader to gather the hay and fork it into the baler. they are not allowed rubber tires of their own but have no problem riding around on them. they run grinders and silage blowers with the old wide belt setup. Never see them pulling wagons with the tractor. The boys next door like it when I bale with my New Holland with a kicker. they stay on the wagon and stack it and then help me put mine in the barn for baling theirs. They run their elevators with a honda motor. balers also have hondas.

I had a good friend and customer who would buy old implements and resell to the Amish- Mennonite from what he told me each community or group is different . Some have cars, phones, etc. While others will have one phone in the community for emergences. Some paint all chrome black on cars -others still run horse and buggy My Nephew lives outside of Harrisburg, He gets frustrated with some of them as he says anything they do not feel like doin GOD Tells them not to.
