mate has just purchased a second hand fendt tractor, has had a bit of a rough life, but our main problem is it cranks fine but needs a whiff of aerostart to fire. It is running a deutz motor.

mate, it could be a deutz, it could be a fendt, sounds like it's for sure second hand. How about a picture of the injection pump or whatever the fuel system is? even one model of deutz could have come from the factory with different injection pumps, and the pump doesn't care what hunk of iron it's bolted to, it will operate the same if it's ugly European green or JD green. Even an engine model number, injection pump model number, or description would go a little ways.

1, is the engine spinning fast enough? 2, does it have glow plugs, are they getting power, are they any good? 3, we are a visual bunch, pics are really appreciated. 4, does it have good power when running, or is there just no compression left?

Thanks Delmer Autoelec coming this morning, will see if his computer can track down the problem, we definitely need a manual to track down some of these problems. This is his 3rd fendt now, 2nd 400 series, will get back to you as to what happens today.

Spoke to autoelec, suggested it could be small crack in fuel line to pump, allowing it to lose prime. So I worked lift pump and mate turned it over, success fired straight up. dont need to use aerostart?, but we have a fuel line to sort out. Experience is much better than a computer, he didn't need to come out, thanks for your help guys I'm sure we are not out of the woods yet! ps. not 400 series 2009 716 Vario . cheers
