Hey guys! My ditch witch 1025 sk run time keeps diminishing. Currently after running it approximately 30 min the machine slowly bogs down and stops moving. The hydraulics on the backhoe and loader are still active. I let it cool for an hour and im able to run it for another 30 min and so forth. All the basics have been made: oil, filter change...fans are blowing and cooling. The two cylindrical Deutz has never failed me and keeps revving hard. Would this point to the pump ( which is obsolete) or the hydrostatic drive? The engine doesn't smoke or bog down when the wheels do. I would appreciate some direction before ripping into it. Thanks.
That sounds like a classic hydrostat failure. You mention the pump, are you talking about the pump that drives the motors in the wheels? assuming they're connected with hoses and not one unit. You might get lucky and get a useful answer here, but it would help if you can find out the brand and model numbers of your components. Pics would help too. Ditch witch most likely didn't make them, and they're probably used on lots of other equipment. Or there are hydraulics sites that have good information. Sorry, can't remember how to find them though. It would be nice to have some pressure measurements (while running cool, and presumably overheating and not driving) before tearing into it.
Thanks Delmer. From my understanding the engine drives the hydraulic pump which intern turns the drive train (hydraulic gearbox) . Would it be considered a hydrostatic drive? I've ordered the parts manuals and should get them in a week or so. Ill post the information till then. Appreciate the advice.
Generally if the hydraulic pieces has high clearances in them as the oil would heat it looses viscosity and blows right by those clearances which would require less horsepower and would not bog the engine. But without knowing whats what and atleast a couple pressure tests .... need more information
