Does a 1998 Hitachi Ex200-3 PVC Controller have to be programmed?

Bought another hitachi ex200 and yet again the pump controller is gone on this machine too, around 10000 hours on machine, had a guy here who bypassed the electronics somehow on the pump and the machine is working but at about 70%, if I buy a aftermarket pump controller from Friday parts or Sinocmp or another vendor do I have to get it programmed in order to work?

No, the PVC controller is plug and play.

You will have to reverse the procedure shown in screenshot below.

Sorry, i beg to differ. If you buy an aftermarket PVC controller, many units require programming for your machine's parameters to ensure correct operation, though some may be sold pre-programmed for specific models. (i searched on alibaba which sells EX200 pre-programmed pvc controller). Programming matches the controller to your excavator’s specifications, ensuring features like auto idle, flow optimization, and protection functions work properly.

Some machine joysticks have electronic control chips that do not require programming. Usually, the engine ECU needs programming.
