Have a brand new Doosan DL 250, don't use it everyday. The equipment will sit for 2-3 days, when I try to start it after that period it wont start. Just wondering if anyone else has the same issue or may know whats causing it.
Shouldn't it be under warranty? There are a couple ways of figuring out what's causing the draw. I would start by installing an amp meter to quantify the draw. Start pulling fuses until it drops. If that doesn't find it, disconnect the alternator and see if that affects it. I once had a draw from an alternator for some unknown reason. Flat batteries if it sat for a 2-3 days. Replaced the alternator and the problem went away (2006 F550).
Yes it still is under warranty but wanted to see if anyone else was having the same issue. Was hoping it would be a quick fix that I could do myself.
Don't know Doosan but there should be either a master battery disconnect switch, or a battery relay near the batteries. Check your operator's book (It IS in the cab per OSHA mandate, yes?) and see if there's a master switch you need to use when parking it. If you find a battery relay near the batteries it may not be dropping out when the key is turned off.
The other issue is aftermarket goodies installed by the dealer. Extra radios, heater fans, auxiliary lighting and whatever else may not be factory. Operators can also come up with some crazy stuff to power by just plugging into any hot wire they can find with a test light. Don't spend too much time on your own. The dealer gets money up front to take care of that kind of stuff.
