Have a Ford 555d backhoe. No fuel at injection pump. Engine cranks over . No smoke from exhaust. Will kind of start on starting fluid. Cant keep it running even with starting fluid.
Sounds to me a filter or line is clogged. Did you check those first?
Is there a transfer pump on the side of the block. Might be an idea to test for pressures after changing all filters. Should disconnect tank line before filters to make sure the fuel flow is good. Might be an idea to blow with air on the return line to make sure it is bubbling in the tank. Do you have an electric fuel solenoid or just a mechanical shut down. Are levers on pump in good shape in proper position. Try Putting 2 pounds of air into fuel tank with a blow gun and a rag ball covering the opening while someone else tries to start. Also check for leaks with the air pressure on. Do some checking before firing the parts cannon. Simon C
They have a filter screen in the tank.. it’s glued to the shut off tap.. Either unscrew the fitting AT THE TANK.. or.. remove the inlet line AT THE FILTER to see if u have any fuel coming out of the tank.. If none or a trickle, either get a new shut off tap OR back blow the line towards the tank.. BE SURE TO REMOVE THE CAP BEFORE DOING THAT.. it could blow up the tank.
