Good prices for used B/H buckets.

What's a good price for a USED 12", 18" or 36" bucket for my Case 580? I'm looking at some for sale on Ebay right now. There's no paint on them, but the teeth are not worn. Looks like they mostly just sat outside for 5-10 years.

A good price would be something like $400-$800,more for the wider ones.

Just wanted to add that the trenching buckets are more common, and seem to be in better shape, also much less demand. Good 24" buckets are very hard to find. $400- $800 seems right on to me. Phil

I was told a guy here in town gave 300 for a 36 that is junk. This came from the welder that he wants to repair it.

What about frost buckets, are they worth much used?

I remember a couple years ago we went and looked a whole bunch of used buckets for the old mans backhoe. We bought a really nice H&H 42" tooth bucket for a 580 for 500 bucks. Then we found out the guy had 2 12", a 24", 30" and 36" that he parted with for 300 more for all of them. Only part that sucked was we wanted them for a John Deere 310-C so we had to modify the buckets for our machine. Heavy Equipment trader always has buckets for sale in there. Also look up Arrow Equipment here in canada, their yard in Edmonton has to have at least 5 acres of old buckets for sale.

Ebay is a very good place to look for bargain. I acutally used this Ebay assistance site to get an idea how much I should pay. For example, here is a list of past sold items when searching for "dumptruck". Hope it help.

B/H Buckets Duke, Check out www.phoenixequipmentsales.com . These guys are located in Cecil, PA and pick up a lot of good deals at auctions and other events. Not sure where you are located in PA but this may be a better option for you that an eBay deal. Freight is such a large factor in Bucket Purchases, especially smaller items like B/H buckets. Good Luck!
