Part # 5H9460 (bolt) and 5H-9459 (nut) not available from Cat. Discontinued. Shop won't make one for fear of liability. Mine is iffy at best, not a good idea to re-use it. Searched the web and all the usual suspects. No joy. Tried finding a good used assembly. Not available. Already spent the $ for the aftermarket spring. Finding that was easy. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it. Great old machine. Hate to see this kind of problem. Thanks.
If anyone has the engineering specs on those parts, it might help me convince a shop to make them up. Would be appreciated.
Hi Chip S, Have you tryed some of the aftermarket store's ?? I had the same problem with my little cat, i found the spring, and bolt spring ass. after market. And the guys at the cat place pressed the spring, good luck, sam, PS i did a thread on the re-coil, and a couple more guy have replaced there re-coil parts.
Yeah, pretty much tried them all. Spring was easy, Regal had it in stock. This bolt and nut tho, this is a problem. Too much force in that spring to mess around with. I got a shop to do the spring work, just need to source the parts.
Hello Chip S, What your up against is the wear on the inside of the housing, whats a danger to the person that handles the spring after it comes out of the press. A new bolt will make no difference if the inside is worn out, They have a new type of system, i not sure if they have one for your cat, Have you tryed Off Road Euip. sam/
