I ordered two new tracks from United Skid Tracks, same size & pattern as i always have (320x86x52). I have never ordered from United Skid Tracks. Last set came from a company the went our of business. After installing, i immediately noticed a vibration, shaking & shuddering coming from the undercarriage. Shakes the whole machine like crazy. Vibrates more when on flat hard ground, slow-medium speed. Old tracks did not cause this vibration, nor did i experience any vibration when i installed new tracks previously. I took it to my Kubota dealer mechanic to look over & he said rollers & idlers were in good shape, bearings good. Final drives are in good shape. All bolts on undercarriage checked & tight. The rear idlers' rolling surfaces were worn, about 3/4" of material gone when compared to new idler's diameter, so i replaced the rear idlers hoping this would bring the back up 3/4" and level all the bottom rollers. Didn't help. The machine still vibrates -- it feels like every bottom roller (there's 4 on each side) is pounding the metal lugs and causing a serious vibration & shake. I contacted United Skid Tracks, and they are sending me new tracks to try out, see if the original pair were defective. I'm worried that the same problem will happen because there's some design flaw where the center of the metal lugs in the track are too thick, causing all the weight to lay on the metal lugs and not the smooth part of the bottom rollers that contact the rubber. The vibration is horrible, when i use pallet forks, the vibration shakes anything off the pallet. Anyone had a similar problem? Is it the tracks or something else? '
Did you replace the sprocket segments when you put the new tracks on? Depending on hours it's a standard practice to replace the sprocket segments when putting a new set of tracks on a CTL. Not saying that's your problem though as it's more of an accelerated wear issue on the new tracks running on worn sprocket segments. Did UST say there was a design flaw?
Thanks for your reply -- Yes, two new sprockets from Ahearn Equipment. Bolts are tight. UST is uncertain what the problem might be. I worry that the design on this track might not be spec for the 2013 SVL75? The metal ribs seem to be bumping each bottom roller and causing the machine to shake & wobble--you can hear the sound of metal on metal in quick succession. The shake is like the vibration you would feel on a washboard dirt road. I sent them videos and photos. UST sent me a new pair of tracks yesterday to try. I'll report back.
Let us know as I've never ran across this issue. Probably is a defective track or wrong spec track for your machine.
Latest Update: installed the new tracks United Skid Tracks sent me. Brand name of track stamped on the side is " Arisun ". Same size as previous (320x86Bx52), still causing the heavy washboard vibrations when rolling on smooth, hard ground. Vibration mostly goes away on soft mulch, and no vibrations when i lift the machine off the ground and engage the final drive motors (no problems with motors, all bolts are tight, new rear idler). I have concluded that these Arisun tracks from United Skid Tracks are not sized properly for the 2013 Kubota SVL75. Specifically, the tracks' rubber is not thick enough where it comes into contact with the 4 bottom rollers, causing the center point each track's steel lugs to come into heavy contact with the steel center portion of the bottom rollers. Basically, the bottom rollers are rolling on steel, not the rubber as designed. This causes intense vibration beyond what is normal, interferes with safe operation, and could damage machine components. Kubota dealer mechanic says he thinks the tracks are the problem; i agree. Probably cheaped out on rubber material, not making the tracks thick enough. Sent a request for a refund on my purchase. I don't think they are defective, but i believe they are not the proper tracks for a SVL75. Waiting to hear back from their warranty dept.
Can you post picture of the inside of the track?
Dang. In the middle of installing a set of their tracks on my CT322. Are the steel bars not completely covered by the rubber of the track itself?
Finally got my new Arisun tracks installed on my CT322. Smooth ride. Plenty of rubber between idler wheels and metal bars.
