Been browsing here for few weeks...using skid steers for a 15 years..had a pile of Bobcats, served me well for the most part, in 2007 switched to new holland cause dealer is close but just aren't built that tough in my opinion 2 weeks ago i made a deal for a new case 450...only down fall is waiting till mid may to get it seems case is backed up and no dealers willing to give up a spot so..on the bright side i get to use my new holland till then so free hours sorta...i was unable to demo one or even see one i know the 90 xt's were tough...i had a 445 last year for few weeks on a rental and really like it so if anyone has any input i would be glad to hear it...and again hello to all:usa
The 450 is not much different than the 90XT as far as design. The 450 S-3 is more powerful than a 90XT and way more powerful than the 445. The cab is very nice in the S-3 machines. The 450 is a sweet machine, especially for excavating and grading. What I really like about these machines is how fast the cycle times are. They are a very productive skid steer. The only downside of this machine IMHO is considering how large and heavy it is, its ROC is rather light at about 2650.
thanks for the input KSSS...very nice web site you have very professional..i should have the same...been excavating, landscaping and demo for about 15 years before that father had excavating business also..the 450 seems to fit my bill..getting hvac cab, road lights, heavy duty rear door, beefy baby tires, proportional hydraulics on joystick, electric hook up,radio and rear view mirror for about 36,000 seems to be good deal..i haggled real hard lol...hopefully the arm design provides good visibilty bit concerned about that...now i just have to wait build date is may 15 delivery around 21 first...the wait is on
hum.... B&H in lititz usually has some 450's on the lot. Are you going tires or tracks?
36K is a great price. Are you getting pilots or keeping the servo controls?
b&h is getting one in but got a little better deal elsewhere...going servo...case controls i have pilots on new holland and like them but wanted 1600 more for pilots figure i will get used to them...what i understand case was shut down for a bit do to the economy dealers don't have alot of inventory just have to wait to be built..whatta ya gonna do.. i'm going tires..i have steel tracks when i need ..do alot of road running so
First thing is to welcome you in to the PowerTan family! Your 450 is a Series 3? Sounds like you got a good price also.
thank you ...yes it's goin to be a 2010 series 3 ....price was 36900 actually, plus tax
When did they start making the series 3? Hi, I'm new to this forum, but have had my 440CT since 2006. Before that I've had an 1845, 1840, and several other Case Uniloaders. I was wondering what series my 440CT is.
Its just considered the 400 series. You could call it series 1 I guess. That was the problem that came about when they named the new machines Series 3 when there was not a series 2.
My guess was that the XT's were the Series 1, then the 400's were Series 2 and the newly released Series 3.:beatsme
