Help I need a hero! 1980’s Massey 20c part identification

Sarah guith · 2019-02-25 14:49

hey guys. We have a 1980’s Massey 20c tractor. Out of nowhere started acting fuel starved. We tried some typical fixes (fuel filter, bleeding lines, checking high pressure pump is good) and ultimately ended up having a tractor repair guy out to look at it. He lost a bracket and my hubby is so frustrated. We dont know what the bracket is called to be able to even begin trying to track down a replacement. I have attached a photo, the kill cable ties into this bracket if that helps at all. Thanks for your time!!!

is that a bracket holding down the engine shutoff cable? oh, yes, indeed, so you have a cable but no bracket now? Not sure if theres any good ** online parts listings, else you may want to mock it up on cardboard and have a local machine shop whip one out for you. I wonder how you lose a whole big bracket like that.

Yes excatly, cable there and no shut off. This is our picture we took before anything was taken apart for THIS REASON. we photographed everything that was going to be taken off. And we asked the guy the same thing, how did you manage to lose the bracket??? He also lost bolts but those were easier to replace. My hubby can likely make another bracket but he is so slammed with work I thought I’d try and track one down. Frustrating to say the least :/

Did you look in the belly pan ? He may have dropped it in there.

That bracket is VERY COMMON to that CAV DPA inj. pump..it commonly used on Fords or Massey Ferg.. IF u have any of those dealer close by.. take THAT PIC & they'll have it IN STOCK.. Good luck.. That's strange tho.. its either STILL on the cable OR still on the inj. pump.. BTW> its called "the shut-off cable bracket".. for a CAV DPA pump..

Did he swap injector pumps and have to "core" the other pump? If so he may have left it on the "core" pump.
