3304 non spacer plate the rods go in the piston with bearing tabs toward valve indentons, then when pistons and rods go in sleve the bearing tabs are toward the cam side of motor . if i read my manual right this is right. would like to hear from someone to make sure this is right. thank you for the help, and enjoy the site.
The piston is easy to see the correct position re'valve cut outs, the con rods have a " I " mark on the side of the rod, this " I " mark must face to the front (Fan) end of the engine, the rod number marks and bearing location tangs are placed together, so look for the I mark on the side of the rod its near the bolt location on the right if the rod is lay flat. tctractors
Thank you for the help. But now i have a rod out of another 3304 that i had fixed to go in my motor, and with the i to the front of the motor the bearing tabs are going to be away from the cam. and that is backwards to the ones in my motor. is this going to mater. this was was my reason for my memory problem. when i pull one down i allways look to see if tabs are away from cam or toward cam ,all ways worked before but not now. thanks for help again.
I know now why it is that way, the rods in the one i got the rod to fix my motor has a taper on the top of the rod and my motor the top of the rod is not taperd. will just have to get a new rod like mine.
