can anyone give me any information on a Hitachi 165 the machine will track in low with out any problems but when switched to high jumps in and out of high and low the digger has been doing this for some time but due to new contact has to track across Fields a lot the owner of the machine replaced a green (what looks like to me a pressure switch) on the swing motor but made no difference does any one know were the 2 speed valve / solonid is fitted to these digger any insight or info would be greatly appreciated thanks paul
You need to find the row of solenoids that will control dig functions, 2 speed travel, and I don`t remember the other. Start with the switch and make sure all wires and connectons are good. The valve just sends pilot oil to the drive motor to change swash plate angle to either high speed or low. You are going have to figure out the electrical circuit and find the source of your problem. Yes I do believe there is a pressure switch on the swing drive, it has nothing to do with travel.
on the swing motor there are 3 solenoids from memory they are marked si so and sw due to the are of this machine and having had electrical systems played about with i want to know if i can wire directly into the solenoid and fit a switch + new wiring my problem is i am unsure which solenoid does what is there any way of getting diagrams or information on where the solenoid is located to operate the two speed tracks thanks for your response paul
On the hitachi's solenoid SI is usually the solenoid for fast travel. Should be activated by a 24v feed to it. The green switch is the travel pressure switch (must be on when travelling) and the blue one is the front attachment switch(has to be off to go into fast speed) Also the two pump delivery pressure sensors need to be working for fast travel to work. Hope this helps
thanks very much for your knowledge i went to the machine and disconnected the three solenoid and disconnected the plugs down the back of the the seat looking for bad connections/corrosion ( due to the fact that the driver power washes the cab ) since i done that the machine has not give bother right up to yesterday when it started to play about again and is now mixing oil in the coolant (lucky me! ) i think the problem is out at the valves due to the fact the plugs are damaged thanks again paul
