Dear all,Recently i just bought a second hand hitachi ex120-1 with tons of things to be done to be perfect running machine, the 1st owner used this machine for 16 years and lots of things has been modified, lots of wiring were missing. The tortoise/rabbit buttons were unplug, no lights, no diesel fuel gauge meter to look onto, all of those sensor and the electric wiring were gone. But still the machine run ok for now. Im planning to connect all those sensor and do a new wiring, for your information im a newbie in excavator world with zero knowlege without any manual book to seek help LOL, i just had a basic knowledge with cars so i think this will help me a bit. As u see the picture with rounded green marking,im wondering is it a sensor or what? Where is it to connected to? Mine still attach but without the wiring someone cut it. Im stuck in this and my brain blowed off LOL, can someone help me with this? Any advice?. Oh by the way can i install intercooler for my ex120-1? I want to install it but need some advice before doing it..
Follow the pilot hose. It should go up to a very small plunger on the throttle. The one next to it should also go there. They are for your E mode and L mode throttles. There is a switch on the dash that has P= power mode E= economy mode and L= for light mode. P is your maximum RPM. E is a reduced RPM and L is a further reduced RPM. L mode is also used for your auto idle. FYI they have a constant 24v power source to them and the Controller in the cab switches the ground to operate it. Why would you want to put an intercooler in it?
Dear kenal, Thanks for your information and help,i really appreciate it . Let me bring you to the bigger view of my problem, starting with introducing you with the ex120-1. Bought it recently, fixed the track motor(piston assy, vavle plate, cylinder block, etc) bacause both of the track motor were jammed ,changed new track link , new roller, sproket ,track shoe and new battery before start working.but theres is one thing im not happy about that is when the excavator going up hill about 30 degrees the excavator pumping a lot of black smoke and it will not move without the help of the arm.in the flat land she moves good and nice.im thinking if of those mode buttons inside the cabin would help me to climb 30 degrees would be great, but as my older post mention that all of the mode , buttons, tortoise/rabbit ,thermometer, hydraulic meter ,any gauge meter and etc were broken into pieces and need to do a new wiring.sadly theres no manual workshop n etc help book for me to get help to. Im new with hydraulic things. About the intercooler im hoping if i install it would keep the engine in a long run and extra power to climb a hill . Ill attach some picture
This is the real picture of my ex120-1, diffrent from the 1st picture that i post taken from web.
first thing i would do is the pressure /flow settings ,thats your problem for tracken up hills, 120-1 are very basic i wouldnt worry about hi low switch i disconnect them on all my machines, all they do is encourage lazy ****ers driving to go everywhere in fast track and burn the uc and final drives. the wiring is easily fixed so is the flow and pressure settings, also if i were you i would change the hyd oil and filters ,and same for engine i would say an air filter would be a good buy also. happy diggen!
one nearest pumps goes to pilot pump, the other 2 solenoids go to the engine throttle cylinders
mexlee send me your email address and I can send you a manual
I have a fh130-1 which is the same as a ex120-1 and have been trying to get a manual for it for some time. Could you help me?
PM me your email address, and i'll send a copy
I could do with an ex135 manual,impossable to get,have u any.
Guys anyone lookin for manuals go to johndeeretechinfo.com... manuals for all hitachis on it.... finally found manual for my 150-1 after 4 yrs looking... thanks to shopguy on this forum
if the machine had been modified a lot, should check carefully, not just follow the manual.
Manual Any chance that I could get an EX120-1 manual or JD 490D manual emailed to me. I have a 490D that one track has little or no power unless the other track is being used or a function on the boom is being used at the same time. I suspect a stuck valve but don't know where to begin. Thanks.
