How to tell if a D7G is direct drive or Powershift?

Aeromechanick · 2024-08-04 12:15

Hello all, Looking at a D7G with a seller a few hundred miles away. Unfortunately the seller isn’t completely familiar with the machine. Is there a way to determine if the machine is direct drive or powershift by visually looking at controls? Please advise, Happy Sunday. -Nick

Ask him to send you a photo of the controls and post it up. Or get the Serial Number. That will identify if it is DD or PS.

Is that determined through CAT SIS? Just curious

    Or the Cat Performance Handbook.

No just memory, they only made a few S/N D7G. Japanese made 64V and 65V, and US made 91V and 92V. There was also a military model, I think it ended with a W. Although technically they did also make a D7G series 2 in this century, but it was for third world markets. I think it may have been made in Indonesia, or Brazil or China.
