D5C *7PSO1136* Got a few days off so i decided to repair an electrical issue with this tractor , the hyd bypass warning light has never worked . Part # 7X8549 Just to make life easy on all of us how do i check the sensor,,,, the OE sensors and the new sensors test the same with my ohm meter . If im understanding CATs test procedure i just attach one test lead to the 12volt connector and the other test lead to the sensor body and i should get 0 ohms,,, i get 999m which translates to open circuit. BTW i do have 12 Volts on each of the wires going to the sensors. What part of this circuit am i not understanding
It's not a sensor it's a pressure switch, and according to the electrical schematic there are two of them, each with a single pink wire connected. Is that correct.? Again according to the schematic the switch contacts are shown as normally open and will close with rising pressure - as would be the case if the filter plugged. The idea being that when the circuit connected to the C446 pink wire, which is powered with batt+ is connected to ground via the body of the switch it turns the plugged filter light on. Test the circuit first. Turn the key ON then take one or other of the pink wires and touch it to machine frame ground. Does the plugged filter light come on.? Would you like to upload that procedure please.
yes the wires are pink in color and the wire to ground does turn on dash light,,, so with this setup there is no "self test" at startup.
That is correct. The way the circuit is designed does not allow for it.
