I am looking at buying a CTL and I like the takeuchi/mustang/gehl units. I understand they use motor oil as hydraulic fluid. If this is the case am I right in assuming that I can't rent attachments from the bobcat dealer or borrow from a friend that has cat attachments because I would contaminate them?
I don't think that I'd worry so much about contamination of hyd/motor oil in system as the oil contained in most attachments isn't very much oil. What I'd be more concerned about, especially with renting attachments, is getting a hold of a unit that's been on someones machine that the oil is contaminated with water (milky oil) or has a lot of metal filings in the oil. Something one always has to consider when renting or borrowing attachments.
