hey fellas newb here i just bought a 2400a ih tractor loader, no hoe, anyways it runs great has strong hydralics only down fall is the clutch shaft is broken ill have to split it to fix it. no big deal anyways it has a bit of a knock noise well not really a knock...it sounds like a diesel enging and its a c157 gas 4 cylinder anyways i was wondering if thats typical for these motors if not what should i look for first. i took the valve cover off and the noise didnt change and i grabbed each rocker as it ran and that didnt make the noise change? thanks im torey btw
Wrist pin? or something in the bellhousing?
thanks mitch ill have to check it out, i dropped the oil pan and im going to check bearings and some other things out. sounds almost like its to fast of a noise to be the rotating mass. idk. what about governor could that be making the rucuss?
well come to find out the noise is piston slap. they are all very loose in the cylinder. so they must all be making noise. anyone ever buy a set of pistons for a c157? point me in the rite direction please and thanks
