Can anyone help me with a international 584,D206 engine problem?I have looked at two repair manuals and asked the local dealer mechanic and got different answers. Which does the rod go in the engine? Boss toward the cam or numbers on the rod toward the cam or notches in the rod bearings toward the cam or some other way??????????????? Thanks for any help. Paul
Paul, The boss on the small end of the connecting rod should be facing the camshaft side of the engine. The arrows on the top of the pistons should face the front of the engine. I have seen both numbers and punch marks on both sides of the connecting rod caps before, but i still use the boss to the cam side on the D-206.
