Mo SHP officer I peak with noted that MoSHP with the Brown Shirt DOT div are starting a investigation that may slip to the Fed for recourse. All the comforts of Home Integral Sleeper cabs have entered their crosshairs as several in past few months showed less than viability in median speed minimal contact incidents. Not sure if will go anywhere but are now two deceased second seat operators that were ejected as the cab side wall shredded ripping the bunk out with the detached section on MO Interstates. Not a good look. Minimal details as Lawsuits have been filed for Wrongful deaths.
Dave---that is a ambulance chasers dream--anytime someone is in a sleeper berth, it's open to anything and everything. These incidents, all these investigations, puff the chests of any states DOT. Two fatalities----what lead to the incident in the first place? These cabs are no different than a RSH, and a RSH is worse. Built to the strongest level without causing too much extra weight. It's unfortunate that two people are dead, but I seriously doubt any major NTSB investigation will result other than reviewing manufactures designs for integrity.
All can do is state what explained.
