so after the cold weather breaks I have ten gallons of unused K-1 kerosene that I keep for heat in case our electric goes out for a couple days. Is it OK to use in a Case backhoe (Cummins) Does it burn hotter? Should I cut it 50/50 with diesel fuel? Thanks
You can run the kerosene straight but your machine won't have as much power. It's typical to cut #2 with kerosene in the winter months as a gel preventer, usually about 20%. You can dump it in your fuel oil tank for home heat too.
You can use it will be fine winterfuel is #1 and #2 blend lower BTU less power but it won't Gel in cold weather
