When I get to the machine in the morning, machine runs great for about 30 minutes before throwing a check engine light that will flash (machine immediately looses all power nearly shutting off like it's starving for fuel), then the engine light will go off and the machine will pick back up to full power. This cycle repeats every minute for the rest of the day until you let it sit again. Had Deere technicians hook up to the computer, and the computer had logged a Fuel Temperature Sensor code. We replaced this sensor on the injection pump today, but the machine is still having the same issue. The ECU has been replaced within the last 3 months. Any idea what's going on? What about just unplugging this sensor? thanks for any advice.
If controller and sensor has been replaced it's either a wiring issue or the fuel is getting too hot. More than likely sounds like wiring. May just have to run a couple of wires...
Thanks for your response. Had Deere come out again, and they concluded the same thing - dead wire connecting sensor so they ran a new wire. Was out running the machine this weekend and the machine did the same thing- ran great for 30 minutes then started flashing the engine light and derated to a crawl. Do you still think the problem is electrical? Could it be the ecu (which was replaced a few months ago, maybe the programming of it?) or do you think it's actually in the fuel system? What are the most likely causes of hot fuel? Thanks
Only 2 things I can think of.. for hot fuel.. a restriction in the return line or your running the tank to darn near empty.. Go get a laser thermometer, 20.00 from the parts store & shoot the fuel in the tank.. I doubt its hot.. + its ALOT cheaper than getting deere to come out & replace parts.. I'll BET they say, that dead wire killed the NEW temp sensor.. {BS} Good luck & I hope you get her fixed..
We are having a similar issue with a 200CLC. Replaced the controller, temp sensor, injectors, top radiator hose. Once the unit is receiving a heavy work load it goes into limp mode and the check engine light starts to flash. Temp seems to be fine. Not sure what could be causing this issue?
