Doing some much needed maintenance on the old girl and about 1/3 of all the pads are loose enough to jiggle a little. Is this a big deal for a farm machine or are there more serious long term consequences to letting it slide? A couple cans of PB Blaster later and they are stuck where they are still. Takes LOTS of ingenuity to hold the nut in place and a 4ft cheater bar. Will simply tightening them be enough?
Don't let it slide, the track shoes wallowing around will round off the track links and wallow out the bolt holes and then you'll never keep them tight. I would suggest if your time is worth anything, buy a box of the correct bolts and nuts, Cut the old nuts off with the acetylene torch, pop the old bolts out, or burn the heads off and drive them through, put new ones in. Even if you can get the old ones to tighten, they're stretched and will likely break soon after tightening. Just do a few at a time and soon they'll all be marching straight and true.
