good day everyone from reading a bit online i have what seems to be a common problem on those machines (310D92) i’m currently going over the basic maintenance of a machine that worked in a wood chip environment for a while and everything is covered in oily sawdust so some pictures my be harder to work with so i like my machines to be as close to original as i can and as i go i get rid of all the temporary fixes that i can find one is a jumper where the park brake relay should be so when i bought all my oils/filters and various parts that i wanted to replace i also bought the relay and put it where it goes now.... with the jumper park brake engages/disengages fine but i have the stop light blink because the machine doesn’t seem to know it’s off when i engage forward or reverse if i put the relay in then i can’t move anywhere but all good with the jumper the switch is good since it operates fine with the jumper i also found those wires unattached...front right first cover opening...maybe just something else i need to fix and unrelated but then again maybe part of the solution thanks for your leads to a solution
Welcome to HEF Franck ! First we need a serial number of the machine. In the second picture, the disconnected switch is for the brake lights. For your park brake issue there is different wiring based on s/n. Common to all serial numbers is that there is a park brake switch mounted on the PB actuating arm on top of your transaxle that might be defective. Check that switch.
serial #T0310DG784494 will check switch thanks
do you have a drawing or something for where the switch is located ?/ how to access it
If your park brake is working with that jumper and not with a relay. Then there isn't power at the red circle. The blue circle is from your park brake switch and the green circle is to the solenoid valve. If your park brake will release with the jumper when you activate the switch then your switch and solenoid valve are fine. When you remove the jumper and put in a relay and the park brake doesn't release then you don't have power at the red circle. The red circle is protected by a fuse. So either the fuse is bad or the wire from the fuse is bad.
Your relay should have terminal #s on it so compare it to my notes below (hopefully I am correct). Also the park brake position switch is mounted on the inboard side of the right axle on top. There is a park brake "can" mounted there with a shaft that is attached to a lever. The switch is up against the lever and mounted on an adjustable strap.
Also just to note, the PB relay above is actually a "latching" relay, not a direct connection to the park brake solenoid. When the park brake switch is pressed to release the PB, then it activates this relay which in turn then self "excites" itself and supplies power to the PB solenoid through the PB dash switch (terminal 6 to terminal 8).
tanks again guys for the help to help you help me better i went and got more info for troubleshooting i probably found the park brake can mg2361 spoke of...see pictures...but how would i access anything if it’s not underneath it ?
here is also the relay if you need the info that’s printed on it
i continued my checks of the overall machine and while looking at the MFWD function to see if all was well i lifted all four wheels and checked for movement with and without the relay just in case with the jumper instead of the realay everything moves but the left wheel when at idle could it be that brakes stay engaged on one side partially and give me that stop light ? also while actually moving on the ground the light will sometimes stop flashing for instants but always if moving
checking my trans oil i found a way to access the front part but the switch is behind according to your schematic i will continue digging for a way to get my machine going like it should not being a mechanic i learn as i go and thanks again for the help
Let's worry about the relay first. See picture below. No. The light is only an indication of whether the park brake is engaged or not.
