JD 644C / 544C / 444C steering valve rebuild

How do you get the needle rollers out? Are they supposed to be hard to move inside the valve? TIA

    Is he talking about the needle bearing for the shaft?

    I thought the shaft used a bushing (but that could have changed). It has been quite a few years since I had these components apart. The steering column and steering valve are actually two different components (see attachments).

    Only thing I saw was the #14 needle bearing in the column breakdown, which looks like a thrust bearing in the pic. Since he hasn't come back we may never know.
