I'm working on a John Deere 319dt I installed a reman engine due to the old one failing due to low compression I can't keep it running for longer than a few minutes I did reuse the old injectors and injection pumps did reseal the pumps and tested the spray pattern of the injectors my question is is this fuel system supposed to stay pressured because as soon as it dies it completely looses prime

No but I tested it and it seemed fine could that be the problem
How did you test it? Yep. This valve is what maintains the pressure in the rail.
