John deere 650g winch quit

King of Obsolete ยท 2009-03-03 14:47

on buddy barry's 1999 650g, the winch quit working. we were doing a tamden pull up a hill and the winch just in to a free spool until the cable fell off. when you try winding in the cable all it does is make a clicking sound and the spool attempts to turn. any ideas??? thansk KoO Published Author

hyd motor shot **** or the gears stripped out a bearing went south for the winter pull that side cover off and look what failed grease or oil will probably come out so be ready with a bucket or pan

Dose the 650g have free wheel option? My td15 has a carco 50 that dose not have free wheel.I ask because if the 650G has free wheel it may have "kicked out" or have a bad clutch fork.

Lemon sister, I love your affection for that particular deere. If the previously mentined tips dont work, see if you can tell us what model and make it is, that mighyt help us more.

we finally got around to popping off the winch and seeing what has broken on it. we disassemble the whole winch and found no pieces in the oil or anything. only thing that keep on turning and not grabbing anything is this clutch pack that is behind the input shaft cover. thansk KoO Published Author
