starts and idels fine,as soon as throttle up starts missing or flutter.cracked injectors don't seem to ever change.
No idea yet, but how about a little more information? What's the story on the machine? How long have you had it? hours? year? fuel system info? Are you sure of what's in the tank?
Try holding the blade up and holding the hydraulics in a stall. It sounds like a goofy test but trust me....this has happened more than 5 times that i know of. The fuel pump has a load sensing mechanism in it that will not allow the engine to run properly unless engine is under a load. I have repaired this problem on new H series, J series dozers and excavators. Every time on each machine when loading the hydraulics it smoothed out. If this is the case for you you need a new fuel injection pump. It can not be rebuilt properly. Most shops won't even attempt it. I found this O.E.M. Stanadyne pump new in town for 1,400.00 Not a cheap price but it is the only way to go. If this does test does not effect how your engine runs and you have already replaced the transfer pump and filters....including the fuel filter at the rear.....check the controller for codes. If a sensor is acting up it should show a code.
Tried what you suggested, engine cleared under load test. Thanks for the help, TWR
G'day not sure of this model but does it have the roosamaster standyne pump? if it does they have a flexible nylon drive coupling in the pump that deteriorates over time and will give a flutter at light loads at 3/4 to full throttle as you have described, not an expensive fix but best done by someone who knows what they are doing as there are a couple of pitfalls for new chums, hope this helps cheers
Yea....everytime i explain that test to someone they laugh at me...but the proof is in the pudding. Wick...that is the electronic DE10 Standyne pump. Not sure if it has that same coupling as the older Roosamasters or not. M&D Distributors here in Houston has them new for 1,400.00 I tried fixing it and sent them to shops for repair...m&d won't attempt it and they are Standyne dealer. That should tell you something.
I have a pump shop in Dallas that recommended a rebuilt shop but by the time you figure freight and down time, doesn't seem worth the trouble. We mostly do CAT stuff up this way and haven't seen this problem before. Thanks for the help, TWR
