Great Pictures!!! Do you have any more pictures on the Fire Hydrant? I curious how you work the valve when the dirt is filled back in. In fact, I had no idea that they had their own valve. Can't say that I've ever seen that. Did you have to block the back of the Fire Hydrant? I was told that they pack it with sacks of Readi Mix from the back of the pipe to the virgin soil. There is a riser that you put over top of the valve. You backfill around the valve with stone and set the riser right on top of the stone and the riser is thread so you can adjust it to your finish grade. And you do put a trust block behind it to virgin ground on any tee or elbow. Thanks 4 digger it’s not new but it works and I am very thank full for what we have
That hydrant looks a little low and where is the safety glasses, ear plugs and hardhat when operating that saw under the backhoe? Just kidding, trying to sound like an inspector:drinkup Our crews usually throw the bags of readi mix behind the tees and elbows. Do you guys do mainly water or do you do any sewer also? And are you staying busy?
We also do sewer work. We do all side of site work except blacktop. We have some stuff to get in to trouble in tell about June but were not doing a whole lot right now mostly pushing snow. Most jobs slow down this time of year. we are bidding on some nice work for this year God willing we will get one a lot of guys are working pretty cheap right now so it hard bidding right now but am thankful to have something to bid on.:usa
