Kobelco sk200-4 hydraulic power loss

zx10ollie · 2014-08-07 02:24

Hi everyone, just joined up and wondering if anyone can help with a power loss issue on the above mentioned machine. The donk runs well but under certain hydraulic movements its as if the hyraulics are loading up to the point of stalling out the engine? The dash went out along time ago so no diagnostic codes are available, just hopeing someone has encountered the same issue to point me in the right direction instead of throwing alot of money at it for no reason! All and any help is greatly appreciated Cheers Brent

Make sure all your fuses are good including the 1 amp and 5 amp. Ohm the PSV coil on pump 1, it should read 13.5 ohms or very close. Check your rpm sensor with a ac volt gage, 1.4 volts at low idle, increasing to 3 volts high idle. Without a functioning dash these thing can be tough to diagnose. wes

Not sure I understand the question, you posted 200 mark 4, the specs I gave you are generic specs for a mark 4. I you need more detailed info i'll need a serial #. wes

Im assuming its a mark 4 because of a parts dealer a few years back said it but im a little unsure because of a few things ive looked at and want to get a workshop manual. The numbers are YN-16144 Model 24100N7440F1 Serial No 303-115 Cheers Brent

That's an Acera series. Mitsubishi engine, right? 24100N7440F1 is the part number for the swing bearing. YN-16144 is the machine serial number. An SK200-4 would have a Cummins in it

Thats the one, i put any numbers i could locate up. So what year and model is it? Will a kobelco workshop manual suit? Cheers

Yea, finaldrive is right, that's an acera not a 4. But you can still check the psv and rpm sensor. The specs might be slightly different tho, and I don't have them in my memory. I can look them up later. Is the machine identification plate missing, lower right hand corner of cab?

Thank you so much for the replies, i will get back up to it tommorow and have a look. Any idea of the workshop manual i should be looking for? I cleaned and checked the rpm sensor but where and which is the psv? (Hence the need for the correct workshop manual) Cheers Brent

It is a 1993 year. Model varies. In North America we refer to this machine as an SK200LC-V or SK200 Mark 5 or SK200 Acera. As a dealer we called them "Smurf" machines due to the blue color and "helicopter" style cab. Throughout the 1990's we had the Mark 4 series in North America. 4 is an unlucky number in Japanese culture and therefore never used in machine numbering sequence. Notice you've never seen a Hitachi or Komatsu series 4 machine. In the rest of the world throughout the 1990's Kobelco produced the "Acera" version. Within this designation they had "-2 and -3" series. Your serial number is early, making yours an SK200-2 Acera

The psv's (proportional solenoid valve) are mounted on the hyd pump regulators. They are a electric component that the controller uses to control pump flow. The specs should be simaler but I don't have any info on the mark 5 series. Your engine dying under load means the controller isn't controlling pump flow. This can be controller, wire harness-conections between controller and psv's, or the regulators can have bad internal O-rings, in other words, lot's of stuff. As far as a service manual you may find one on the internet I'm not sure if my parts guy can get one for the mark 5 series. wes

Thank you very much for all this help, still abit confused as to what workshop manual i should be searching for though? There's a few online but the vendors dont seem willing to have a flick through to determine if its the right one for me. (Lot of money to waste on a wrong manual) Contacted a Kobelco dealer over here and there not getting back to me. Will start checking/cleaning/testing the mentioned valves and see how we go Cheers Brent
