Hi guys can anyone help me please, I have a problem on a Komatsu 500-3 loader where the transmission is getting full of hydraulic fluid .Now I have read your posts of what the problems can be and most say the pumps, I have pulled all the pumps again after thay were re sealed and tested Two days ago, but it was not the case or the problem ,are there any other way the oil can get into the tranny before I fit these pumps again because its a hole day job just to get the 5 pumps off. any help please. thanks in advance
The pumps. It can only be the pumps. The pumps are still leaking. Nothing money can’t fix. Just pain and heartache. Stress and anxiety. Nothing but broken dreams and promises under that sheet metal. Days of downtime. Explaining the why and what to upper management. Wondering if you will be the scapegoat when the CFO looks at the numbers. Finger pointing. The guy that rebuilt the pumps is probably married to the owners, younger sister. My goodness. Nothing good will come of this. I’m sorry dude. I’ve been there and done that. Forget it, man. Just find a new job. Nobody wants to fix 40 year old Komatsu products. It was a blast back in the 90’s. Listen to Nirvana, pre deliver new WA600-A1’s and PC-300-5 HD’s. Those were the days, let me say.
Just look at this majestic beast. In the heart of the rainforest. A young Coaldust working 20 hour days. Living in a service truck. Eating peanut butter and Wonderbread for days. Along with an occasional poached blacktail for protein. Washing it down with cheap whisky. Just to keep the wood moving. It was all about the wood. Nothing else. The wood had to move. The barge had to be fed. Tugboats don’t work for free.
We had the pumps rebuild and tested again after no leakige found fitted and half a day then the tranny begins over flowing i striped them yesterday inspected seals and see nothing the wearplates is the pumps are still green nou marks yet seals perfect but there is one pump on there that looks like its a transmision pump because it gets its oil from the tranny then to filters and cooler and then in to tranny again did not remove that one does not seem to be connected to the hydraulics
How fast is this happening? Is the hydraulic oil level dropping? Or, is the job site Oiler overfilling the trans? I’ve seen Oilers do that.
Have you checked position of the Emergency Parking Brake switch behind the seat near the fuses? When this switch is in Cancel position, a solenoid is activated that allows hydraulic oil from the service brake accumulators to be used to disengage park brake for moving a disabled machine. If pumps are not the cause of the oil transfer this could be your issue.
Morning guys its 4:00 here im taking the pumps to cape town to get it tested again before fitting it on machine Ill defenetly check that swith when i get to the machine again on monday Thanks for your help guys but all the pumps are cast iron gpm pumps on the back of the tranny two single pumps and two double pumps im not sure what pump does what ons the machine still trying to figure out but the double pumps has the same sucktion so no leakege threw the pump or inside one double is used for transmission and the other one hydraulic the two single pumps also hydraulic and then on front of tranny there are an aluminum single pump also for emergency steering when machine is dead
